How to dress for a serious summer event.
An unexpected darker combo - and why it works.
How to dress for a serious summer event.
Lads,
Someone asked me recently - what do you wear when you want to look more serious in summer? Not a beach dinner. A real event. A big meeting, a formal occasion, something where you want to walk in looking sharp and deliberate without looking like you ignored the season.
Today I have the answer.
I went for a monochrome Java Brown look - the Madeira French Linen Long Sleeve Polo and the Skyline Pant, both in Java Brown. The linen polo keeps you fresh even in air conditioned spaces, and the Skyline does what it always does - makes you look put together without any effort. Monochrome in a rich, warm tone like Java Brown reads as serious and considered, not casual.
Then the unexpected piece: the Dwayne V-Neck Cashmere in Midnight Blue on top. Midnight Blue and Java Brown is one of those combinations that just works. The lightweight V-neck in blue over the warm brown creates a contrast that feels intentional and sharp - exactly the note you want for a serious event in summer.
I also walk you through the shoes and jewelry I chose for this look - and you might want to take notes.
