OUTFIT OF THE DAY #135
How do our clothes look on a “non-model”?
Looks from my daily life here at Y.Chroma HQ in Lisbon in hopes they inspire you.
Henley Week, Day 3: monochrome, then a pop of color.
Lads,
Day 3 of Week of Henleys. Today’s look is the dark one, and it might be the most sophisticated of the week. I chose a monochrome Obsidian Gray look and added a pop of color on top.
The base is the Henley in Obsidian Gray, paired with the Obsidian Skyline Pant. Then you layer it with the Sevilla Long Sleeve in the same color.
Monochrome always works, but it gets special when the textures do the talking, and this is where they do. The Henley is soft and structured. The Skyline is clean and sharp. The Sevilla brings depth with a textile inspired by Las Setas de Sevilla, the enormous wooden lattice structure that floats over the old city. Same tone, three different textures.
Then you add a pop of color. Put the Varial Teal and Gray on top of the Sevilla. Teal flecked through gray, sitting over a full Obsidian base, adds a pop of color to a monochrome look without breaking it. The dark Henley, the Sevilla, and the Skyline Pant frame the color and let it do the talking.
That’s the logic of a well-built base. Get the Henley and the pant right, and the layers on top decide the mood.
Enjoy,
